Rajinikanth’s ‘Jailer’ released on the big screen on August 10, 2023. Needless to say, the film has taken a fantastic start at the box office. On day 1 itself, the movie entered the Rs 100-crore club at the global box office. Trade expert Ramesh Bala shared the day 1 box office figures of ‘Jailer’ from the South as well as overseas. According to him, the Tamil film earned Rs 100 crore this morning itself.

Ramesh Bala shared a tweet on Twitter that read, “Jailer has Crossed the Rs 100 Cr Mark early this Morning.. It is the 11th Rs 100 cr movie for SuperStar Rajinikanth Solid bookings for Day 2 WW..(sic).”
Sharing the worldwide BO figures of ‘Jailer’, the trade expert added, “Jailer WW Day 1 – Gross: Tamil Nadu – Rs 26 Cr Kerala – Rs 5.85 Cr Karnataka – Rs 11.85 Cr Telugu states – Rs 12 Cr ROI – Rs 3 Cr Overseas – Rs 40 Cr Total – Rs 98.70 Cr (sic).”

‘JAILER’ BOX OFFICE PREDICTION
Earlier, speaking with IndiaToday.in, the trade expert had mentioned how ‘Jailer’ would fare at the box office.
“The primary audience for ‘Jailer’ is mostly in the South. It is also releasing in Tamil and Telugu better than Hindi I think. So, the Tamils and Telugus who are settled in Mumbai, Delhi and the other big cities will go and watch it. The primary target audience for ‘Gadar ‘2 and ‘OMG 2’ would be the North of India, Maharashtra and above. But certainly, the South will prefer ‘Jailer’ and after watching it, they will watch ‘Gadar 2’ over the weekend. Hopefully, 80 per cent, they wouldn’t eat into each other’s business. There would be a 20 per cent overlap. There will be competition between ‘Gadar 2’ and ‘OMG 2’,” he said.
