By Trisha Bhattacharya: The month of July is jam-packed for K-drama lovers. While the June K-dramas are still ongoing, we already cannot wait for the ones that start this month. From Girls’ Generation Sooyoung’s ‘Not Others’ to ‘The Uncanny Counter 2’, the dramas scheduled to start in a few days, promise a dose of suspense, romance as well as comedy.

We will get the second season of three widely loved dramas; ‘D.P’, ‘Shadow Detective’ and ‘The Uncanny Counter’. Choi Sooyoung, who was last seen in ‘If You Wish Upon Me’, will be seen in a heart-touching mother-daughter drama this time. Jo Byeong-gu is all set to make his comeback with the second season of the widely loved and adored supernatural comedy, ‘The Uncanny Counter 2’.

Let’s now delve into all the dramas that are set to air in the month of July.

After an exciting debut season in 2022 in which he was thrown into the middle of a murder case after a bizarre phone call from the anonymous “friend,” Lee Sung-min returns as seasoned investigator Kim Tae-rok in ‘Shadow Detective 2’. In the new season, we will see Tae-rok delaying his retirement in order to join the juvenile crimes team and also spending his downtime in between cases, attempting to figure out who his ‘friend’ really is.

‘Shadow Detective 2’ premieres on Disney+ on July 5.

Jeon Hye-jin and Girls’ Generation’s Sooyoung star in the upcoming comedy-drama K-drama ‘Not Others’. They will feature as a mother-daughter pair, who, despite their frequent fights, have a deeply loved relationship. Jin-hee (Sooyoung), who is now 29 years old, has lived with her mother her entire life.

However, once Eun-mi meets the enigmatic doctor Jin-hong (Ahn Jae-wook) and her daughter encounters the abrasive Jae-won (Park Sung-hoon) at work, their peaceful life is shaken.

The drama is set to premiere on July 17.

My Lovely Liar stars Love Alarm’s Kim So-hyun as Mok Sol-hee and Alchemy of Souls’ Minhyun as Kim Do-ha. Sol-hee is a woman with the supernatural ability to tell who is lying. Do-ha is a reclusive music producer who is accused of murder. As they work together to clear Do-ha’s name, they develop a beautiful romance.

The drama is set to air starting July 24.

The main character in the drama, Oh Jin-seong, played by Na In-woo, has his life turned upside down when his brother Jin-woo (K-pop idol Ren) is charged with murder. After being cleared of the charge, Jin-woo is suddenly killed, and Jin-seong launches a search for his brother’s killer. Despite the poetic and romantic title, the drama is everything but that.
